The Borough of Ambler’s Public Works Department is responsible for managing the ongoing operations for the following:

  • Street and road maintenance and repair
  • Stormwater management
  • Snow removal
  • Maintenance of parks and borough properties

Streets

Handicap Parking Sign Permits
Applications for handicap parking sign permits are handled on a case-by-case basis. Permit applications may be obtained at the police station or by contacting the borough.

Road Repairs & Snow Plowing
To obtain assistance regarding any street-related problems such as potholes or snow plowing, call either the borough at 215-646-1000 or the Ambler Public Works Department at 215-628-9409.

Street Sweeping
NEW 2017 SWEEPING SCHEDULE – Beginning this spring, street sweeping will be performed weekdays on the 1st and 3rd week of each month.  To keep it simple, street sweeping will take place the same weeks as Yard Waste Pickup.   We will follow the same day-of-the-week sweeping schedule.  We plan to have the sweeper out on the streets Mondays through Fridays during the following weeks:  April 3, April 17, May 1, May 15, June 5, June 19, July 10 (no sweeping – or yard waste — 4th of July week), July 17 (to make-up for 4th of July week and to stay on schedule with Yard Waste Pickup), July 31, August 14, September 4 (not Labor Day, we’ll pick a date for Monday sweeps that week), September 18, October 2, October 16, November 6, November 20 and finally December 4.  Parking-restriction signs are posted throughout the borough and parking restrictions are enforced during this time.

Stormwater Management

The Public Works Department cleans stormwater inlets and monitors the effects of severe rain events on public roadways.  Residents can help by clearing debris from stormwater inlets in their neighborhood in anticipation of severe storm events.
