In accordance with the requirements of PA Code Title 25 Chapter 71.31(c), Upper Dublin Township and the Borough of Ambler are accepting comments on a proposed revision to their respective Official Sewage Facility Act 537 Plans.
The primary amendment to the Act 537 Plans is to address the present and future sewage disposal needs of the central portion of Upper Dublin Township that is tributary to the Upper Dublin Wastewater Treatment Plant (UDWWTP), owned and operated by the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority (BCWSA). This Plan amendment proposes the demolition of the UDWWTP and the construction of a new sewage pumping station, to be located on the treatment plant property, and associated force main to connect directly to the Ambler Wastewater Treatment Plant, which will be upgraded to handle the additional flows.
The Act 537 Plans will also be revised to address service area boundaries as follows:
- The adjustment of the Ambler Service Area to encompass the entire UDWWTP Service Area.
- Expand the new Ambler Service Area boundary line in the vicinity of Craig-Y-Nos Avenue to accommodate the proposed low pressure sanitary sewer system to serve the neighborhood.
Below is a summary of the changes. The full text amendment is available for public review during normal business hours at Upper Dublin Township’s temporary offices located at 370 Commerce Drive, Fort Washington PA 19034, (215) 643-1600.
It is also available for public review during normal business hours at the Ambler Borough Hall, 131 Rosemary Avenue, Ambler, PA 19002, (215) 646-1000.
