The Borough of Ambler is the social, cultural and business center of this friendly, small community with a population of 6,400 and covering less than a square mile. Its churches, affordable housing, great schools, convenient public transportation accessibility, parks and recreation facilities, and a “walkable” downtown make it an ideal location for living, working and playing. Ambler boasts many wonderful organizations, community facilities and arts centers, including Ambler Theater, Wissahickon Valley Public Library and the Ambler Area YMCA.

On August 19, 2025, Ambler Borough Council voted to authorize Borough staff, in conjunction with the Ambler Borough Environmental Advisory Council (EAC), to develop a succession plan for trees along Butler Avenue by the end of the year. The comprehensive plan community survey was first opened to the public in January of this year, and it remained open until May 3rd. Over this timeframe, a total of 512 responses were logged. The survey link was included on a postcard that was mailed to all homes and businesses in the borough to publicize the January open house. Ambler Main Street, a private non-profit organization, organizes many well-attended annual events throughout the year, including the Ambler Arts & Music Festival in the spring, Oktoberfest in the fall, Ambler Farmer’s Market on Saturday mornings, First Fridays, a once-a-month festival held May through October, a bi-annual Restaurant Week, the annual Ambler Auto Show and more. Working closely with the Borough of Ambler, area businesses and civic organizations, including the Ambler Kiwanis and Ambler Rotary clubs, the volunteers of Ambler Main Street bring many activities to our community.
