Discolored Water Reported Tuesday A.M.

Earlier today a fire flow test was conducted at a private facility and a fire hydrant was opened.  The Water Department was not notified in advance.  This affected water services on North Spring Garden, Tennis, Belmont, North Ridge and Forest.  If you experience discolored water, do not open the hot water side of your faucet — this will bring the discolored water into the hot water tank.   Run cold water only from your faucet for several minutes.  Continue repeating the process until the water runs clear.  If you have a water softener, it is suggested you by-pass the softener until the situation is clear.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
