The Borough of Ambler Open Space Committee evaluates the needs of the Ambler community and develops the borough’s Open Space Plan. The most recent plan was prepared in 2006 by the Montgomery County Planning Commission and was partially funded by The Montgomery County Green Fields/Green Towns Program. The main goals of the plan are as follows:
- preserve sensitive natural features and reduce flooding
- improve public access to existing parks and open space
- incorporate aesthetic improvements
- preserve and enhance historic resources
- create or improve recreational facilities
