The Borough of Ambler has a professional municipal manager who oversees its day-to-day operations. Borough Manager Mary Aversa was appointed by and serves at the pleasure of Ambler Borough Council. She is primarily responsible for the following borough department operations with the exception of the police department:
- Highway/Public Works
- Water
- Code Enforcement
- Finance
- Emergency Management
- Grant Program Management
- Solid Waste & Recycling
The borough manager’s office maintains and retains all vital borough records including council meeting minutes, ordinance and resolution adoptions. As council’s appointed administrator, the borough managers responsibilities encompass the following:
- preparing council agendas
- making recommendations to councilmembers and provides them with information to assist in their duties
- overseeing preparation of an annual budget
- implementing all policies developed by council
- acting as council’s representative to the public
- overseeing work undertaken by the finance manager and the borough solicitor
