Ambler Environmental Advisory Council (EAC) is orchestrating a new way for families and individuals to participate in Making Ambler A Shade Better. The goal of the Adopt-A-Tree program makes sure that newly-planted public and park trees live longer. Young trees need watering during the first two years after planting to establish vigorous roots. Young trees planted last year and more arriving in April each need a dedicated adopter. Trees need about 10-15 gallons every week when it doesn’t rain during the warm months of May to October. Also, tree care involves removing occasional weeds from the mulch apron, and reporting if the tree has any damage or health issues. Ambler will receive eight additional young trees on Earth Day, April 22. These new additions to our community need to be adopted. Enroll in Adopt-A-Tree by visiting www.amblereac.org/adoptatree/ to choose the tree that is convenient for you, then email the Ambler EAC at [email protected] .
