Order by September 15 — Ambler residents are eligible to apply for native trees at a significantly reduced cost over local nursery price. Native trees including Serviceberry, Red Maple, Sugar Maple, Honeylocust, Red Oak, American Elm and more are available. The trees are typically already 6’ to 8’ tall and come as “bare roots trees.” The discounted trees are provided by the TreeVitalize program of the PA Horticultural Society as part of their Southeastern Pennsylvania Plant-One-Million effort. Additional financial support is provided through the Ambler EAC’s “Make Ambler A Shade Better” program.
Cost for the first tree is $55 and additional trees are $90 each. Trees will be delivered for planting near a weekend in mid-November which is when the new trees have the best survival rate. The EAC provides everything property owners need to know to prepare for their tree(s), including a video on how to plant bare roots trees within 24-48 hours of delivery.
The full list of tree species with photos and details is available at amblereac.org. Interested property owners must download a form to order their trees and return it to Ambler Borough Hall at 131 Rosemary Ave, Ambler, PA 19002 by September 15, 2020.
