Water Main Break – Meade Road, Whitpain Drive, and West Butler Avenue

A Water Main Break has occurred in the area of Meade Road, Whitpain Drive, and West Butler Avenue in Whitpain Township.  The water main has been shut down for repairs, and the water will be off for a couple of hours until completion of the repair.  A crew is on-site and will remain on-site to make the repair until the job is complete some time later this afternoon.  This will only affect customers located on and around Meade Road, Whitpain Drive, and West Butler Avenue. Once the repair has been made and water is restored, if you experience discolored water, do not open the hot water side of your faucet — this will bring the discolored water into the hot water tank.   Run cold water only from your faucet for several minutes.  Continue repeating the process until the water runs clear.  If you have a water softener, it is suggested you by-pass the softener until the situation is clear.  We apologize for the inconvenience.
