The Ambler Borough Planning Commission is preparing a new comprehensive plan to establish the Borough’s long-term vision and identify strategies to achieve it. Since the plan was last updated in 2013, Ambler has continued to evolve while preserving many defining strengths, including its compact, walkable character, vibrant downtown, diverse housing options, extensive system of parks and open space, strong school district, and excellent public transit access.
The comprehensive plan will address land use, housing and neighborhoods, transportation and mobility, economic development, and sustainability. Input gathered through a January 2024 open house, a community survey, and extensive discussions at over a dozen Planning Commission meetings has helped shape the draft goals presented tonight.
